Ace cinematographer Santosh Sivans project Ceylon is believed to have been shelved.
Santosh Sivan, the internationally acclaimed south Indian film maker earlier announced that he will make a film Ceylon based on the situation in Sri Lanka. The movie was to be based on the countrys internal conflict and the plight of Tamils displaced by war. He had also said that he will start the film by November after completing Mani Ratnams Raavan as a cinematographer.
Now sources say that the director has almost dumped the plan. Ravana is stretching beyond timelines and also Santosh has been receiving a lot of offers for acting from Mollywood. And so he had to abandon the project according to reliable sources.
Santosh Sivan is already playing the lead role in the Malayalam film Makaramanju which depicts the period when Raja Ravi Varma painted Urvashi-Pururavasu. Radhas daughter and the Ko heroine Karthika is playing the female lead to Santosh Sivan.
